Middleton Soccer Club depends on volunteers to make soccer available to players in our community. Following are general areas for which volunteers are needed.
Coaches and Managers
Our recreational soccer program needs volunteer coaches for U6 through U10 teams. Teams practice two-three evenings a week and play games on Saturday morning at Mill Creek Elementary. Volunteer coaches receive training before the season starts, and have trainers available to help them on practice nights. The teams also need a parent manager to help with communications to parents, passing out information, treats and assisting the coach with various activities.
Fundraising
Fundraising volunteers can serve in several ways, depending upon their interests and the amount of time they can devote to it. They can serve on the Fundraising Committee, which plans and oversees various fundraising projects, or help write requests to fund specific programs and activities. Another option is to work on a specific fundraising project, such as selling fanwear, organizing the workers for the concessions stand, or working in the concessions stand.
Field Setup
Before every game day, the fields need to be set up - cones and goals put in place. If you can do it every session, or just a few, your help is welcome.
Field Maintenance / Prep
Before practices and games, the fields need to be marked, painted and prepped for the season. Throughout the season, occasional "touch-up" painting must be done to ensure the lines and markings are clear and visible. Any help with this area is greatly appreciated!
Age Group Commissioners
To better facilitate communication between Middleton Soccer Club and parents, we are seeking Age Group Commissioners for each age group - U6, U8, and U10. The Commissioner would send information from the Club to the parents in the age group - changes in schedules, pictures being available, announcements of events, etc. He or she could also facilitate getting information or questions from parents to the Club. For levels U11-U18 (Boys and Girls teams), we are seeking a "Team Manager" for each team to assist with all the communications and requirements of the District 3 / IYSA items.
Board Positions
There are currently openings for Concessions Coordinators (TWO Openings), Field Maintenance Coordinator, and Fesitval/Events Coordinator. Board Members attend the monthly Board meeting.
Annual Basket Raffle
The fundraising raffle is held during the Kohl's American Cup Festival and is open to anyone interested in soccer in the Middleton and surrounding areas. This is the only form of organized fundraising our Club is currently involved with. Each Team is responsible to donate a themed Basket to be raffled off during the Festival. Typically a parent from each team will coordinate the theme of the basket and ask for donations of either items or money from the team members. Teams have gotten very creative in their Basket creation with themes like Movie Night, Scrapbooking Baskets, Spa Baskets, Soccer Fun, etc.
