Volunteering

Many people are reluctant to volunteer because they don't know a lot about soccer, or because they can't commit to large amounts of volunteer time. That's okay. We have volunteer opportunities that range from just a single morning with no experience required.

If you'd like to become a coach, or referee, or just learn more about the game of soccer, training is available.

So, look over the volunteer positions, find something that you can do, and volunteer today!

Responsibilities

Field Preparation

Field Layout
This happens twice a year. Usually in late february and mid-august. Field positions and sizes are determined by following templates. Some geometry and basic math is needed to make sure the fields are nice and square. 8 hours, twice a year.

Field Painting
This happens about two to three weeks during the season (March-May and August-October). A mechanical paint machine is used to spray paint on top of the existing lines. The machine is cleaned after each use. It takes between 20 minutes (small field) and 40 minutes (large field) to paint a field. We have about 8 fields.

Game Day Preparation
Each game day, nets and flags must be distributed to the U6-U10 fields and the small goals unlocked and placed on the fields. Goals must be securely in place. After games, they need to be collected and locked up. About an hour each game day.

Registration

Registration Assistant
Organize and collect registration forms, money, permission slips, and medical releases before each season.

Festivals

Setup/Takedown
The day of the festival, there are lots of things to setup: tables, food, concessions, goodie bags. After everything is done, it must be cleaned up again. Two or three days a year for a couple of hours.

Equipment

Inventory
Count and organize nets, cones, flags, bags, balls, and other equipment used by the players. Identify equipment needing replaced or repaired. 6 hours after each season.

Refurbishing
Broken goals are unsafe. New goals are expensive. If you have and can use a portable welder we'd love to hear from you. Likewise, flags and nets need repairs each season. Between seasons.
