Middleton Soccer Referees are certified through the United States Soccer Federation (USSF). They receive either a Grade 8 or 9 Certification, and are required to re-certify every year. Each Referee is trained on the Modified Rules of the Game used by the Middleton Soccer Club. Although some of the referees are seasoned officials, many of them are brand new on the field.
The first responsibility of the Referee is to ensure the safety of the players on the field. The Referee will check the field, goals and nets and player equipment before the game. The Referee will assure that the coaches and players are on one side of the field and the spectators on the other.
During the game, the Referee will be responsible for making sure the Modified Rules of the game are followed by the players.
If at any time, a problem arises with a Coach, the Referee can ask the Coach to leave the field. If a problem exists with a spectator, the Referee will ask the Coach to handle the problem. If the problem persists, the Referee can suspend the game.
Fortunately, we have great fans in Middleton, spectators and coaches that truly care about the kids and want the best for them. In Middleton Soccer, it's about the Kids!
As a Coach or a fan, if you have questions or suggestions for the referee, please wait until halftime or after the game so that the referee can give you the attention you deserve. If you have feedback for the assignor. please use the contact information on this website.
